From invoices to newsletters to sales materials, direct-to-customer mailings are an important part of every business. The faster you send out your invoices, the faster you get paid. The more timely the newsletter, the better the  response. Sure it’s relatively easy to print out an invoice or newsletter, but what about the envelopes, addresses and postage? That can be a logistical headache. That’s where Stamps.com comes in. With Stamps.com you can easily import your existing PC address book and print envelopes with postage and address in one simple step.

Pushing the envelope… mailings made easy with Stamps.com.

 1. Import your addresses in seconds
Stamps.com allows you to import addresses from Outlook, QuickBooks, CSV file, or many others. That means you’ll never have to handwrite or re-type another address. Not using Quickbooks or Outlook? Then simply export your address data in CSV format and import the file into the Stamps.com Address Book.   To learn more about importing CSV data into the Stamps.com Address Book, click here.  If your contact addresses are in Microsoft Word, you can perform a Mail Merge and print directly from Word.

 2. Invoice-to-Envelope matching… as easy as A-B-C.
Putting letters or invoices in the wrong envelope should never happen. Stamps.com helps you make sure it doesn’t. If you are printing mailing addresses on envelopes and you need to match the envelope with an addressed letter or invoice, simply sort the addresses alphabetically in the Stamps.com address book  by clicking the top of the column that you want to alphabetize. Stamps.com will print all the letters, invoices and envelopes in the same order to make collation practically fool-proof. It’s that simple.

 3. More professional looking envelopes.
Why not use the space on your envelope to feature your logo or to send a special message? With Stamps.com you can choose from one of our seasonal images or upload your own. Or, add an additional direct marketing message right on your envelope!

 4. New Laser-Friendly Window Envelopes.
Windowed envelopes are a great way to save a little time and hassle. But what if your hot little laser printer has a habit of melting your windowed envelopes? Put down the fire extinguisher and try our new heat resistant Laser-Window envelopes… a Stamps.com exclusive.  (Click here to order).

 5. Print all your envelopes at once.
Simply select the addresses you want to print, fill up your envelope tray, and let it rip.  If you print more than 20-30 envelopes at a time, then you’ll probably want to print in small batches.  Or you can think about purchasing an envelope feeder.  HP sells two envelope feeders for their LaserJet printers both for $249.99, click here if you have a 4200 or 4300 Series HP LaserJet or here if you have a P4010 or P4515 Series HP LaserJet.  Lexmark also sells a variety of envelope feeders, click here to learn more, including locations for Lexmark retailers.

Stamps.com Tip: Printing Glitches
If your printer messes up your envelopes, simply click “reprint” to reprint the whole batch. If there’s only a mistake on one envelope, simply request a refund for that envelope and print the envelope again. Either way, you can rest assured you’ll never lose postage because of printing problems. Note: All refunds are processed and sent directly from the U.S. Post Office.
