Stamps.com Puts a Virtual Post Office In Accounting Software For Small Businesses
New releases of Peachtree accounting software integrate postage and mailing services
Santa Monica, Calif., August 8– Small businesses will enjoy a new service available with Peachtree’s newest accounting software- Release 2002 – a virtual post office built into the software.
Thanks to a partnership between Peachtree, makers of award winning accounting software, and Internet based postage and shipping services leader Stamps.com, Peachtree customers now have the ability to perform a multitude of mailing functions such as address-validation, mail class checking and postage printing, without leaving the familiar environs of their new accounting software, or requiring the use of additional hardware such as a postage meter.
The Peachtree integration is part of Stamps.com’s new “1-Step Postage(TM)” initiative, a program designed to make postage and mailing services available in a single step within most small business and office software applications.
“1-Step Postage(TM)-enabled software streamlines the mailing process, making it faster and easier to mail out business correspondence,” said Mark Krojansky, Partner Development Manager for Stamps.com. “Customers can print envelopes complete with proper postage, delivery and return addresses at the same time a letter, invoice, check, or any other correspondence is prepared. All that is required is a printer and Internet connection. No postage meter, sticky stamps or extra steps.”
Stamps.com postage and mailing services are already integrated with popular office applications such as Microsoft Word and Outlook, as well as a number of small business software packages. The company also plans to announce more 1-Step Postage(TM) integrations in the future.
“The integration of Stamps.com’s services within Peachtree accounting software makes it possible for the user to ‘go to the post office’ without leaving his or her desk,” said Daneen Heislitz, Director of Product Marketing for Peachtree Software. “The ability to handle mailing functions like address checking, postage purchases and metering, even tracking postage expenditures from within the software represents a major convenience and costs savings for small businesses.”
Peachtree customers who install Peachtree Complete Accounting 2002, Peachtree Accounting 2002, or Peachtree First Accounting 2002 will have access to the full suite of Stamps.com services from within the Sales Invoicing, Write Checks and Payments screens in the software. Features include address verification and ZIP+4 completion, 24 hour/7 day a week access to purchase and print postage, postage history reports, as well as additional features that facilitate easy access to postage services, faster delivery, and better mailing cost management.
