STAMPS.COM LAUNCHES AFFILIATE PROGRAM WITH MORE THAN 4,000 PARTNERS ON-BOARD IN ITS FIRST MONTH

Teams with Be Free To Expand Distribution to Small Business Customers

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – November 9, 1999 – Stamps.com™ (Nasdaq: STMP) today announced the launch of its affiliate program in a partnership with Be Free, a leading provider of performance marketing technology, services and knowledge. With more than 4,000 partners already signed-up in its first month, Stamps.com’s affiliate program expands distribution of the company’s Internet Postage™ service to small businesses, its primary target market.

Stamps.com offers a convenient, cost-effective and easy-to-use service for purchasing and printing postage over the Internet. Its Internet Postage service is approved by the US Postal Service and is currently the only commercially available offering that requires no additional hardware to purchase and print postage; the user’s existing PC, printer and Internet set-up are sufficient. With Stamps.com, customers can purchase and print postage 24 hours a day, seven days a week from their PCs.

With the launch of the affiliate program, a qualified web site can begin offering Stamps.com’s service by signing-up for membership at www.Stamps.com/affiliates. Affiliate partners establish a web link from their site to Stamps.com and can earn commissions for each referred customer that signs-up for Stamps.com’s Internet Postage service. Standard commission is $5 for each personal plan subscriber and $10 for each business plan subscriber. Affiliate partners who sign-up before November 30, 1999 can earn double commissions for customer referrals for a limited time period.

“We anticipate that this program will generate added exposure and distribution of our service,” said
Chris Hylen, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Stamps.com. “We’re pleased that over 4,000 partners have recognized the ease, convenience and cost-savings of our software-based service.”

Stamps.com’s affiliate program extends partners other special benefits, including:

  • Limited Time Charter Membership. Affiliate partners who enroll by November 30, 1999 receive immediate status as a Charter Member. Charter Members earn up to double commission for customers who sign up before December 31, 1999, equating to $10 for each qualified personal plan subscriber and $20 for each business plan subscriber.

  • Free Postage Offer. Until January 2000, affiliate partners can offer up to $10 in free postage to customers who register for Stamps.com’s service.

  • Freedom Sweepstakes. Affiliate partners are eligible to win $250 in free postage and a mobile office valued at $3,500 for referring customers to Stamps.com. Affiliates are eligible for one entry in the sweepstakes for each visitor that registers for the Stamps.com service.
