Stamps.com New Version 4.0 Dramatically Improves Customer Misprint Experience

 

SANTA MONICA, Calif–May 27, 2004 – Stamps.com® (Nasdaq: STMPD – News), the leading PC Postage® provider, today announced the release of Stamps.com Version 4.0. The new version provides customers with a dramatically improved experience for handling postage printing problems. Version 4.0 also improves the usability of NetStamps™, adds email notification capabilities, and broadens the availability of Stamps.com insurance.

“The advancements in version 4.0 around misprinted postage represent a big leap forward in solving one of our largest remaining customer issues,” said Ken McBride, CEO of Stamps.com. “We expect this change to be well received by our customers.”

With new version 4.0, following a printing problem customers can now immediately reprint postage for all packages and envelopes. In addition, customer can easily request paperless electronic postage refunds (e/Refunds) directly through the Stamps.com product. Before version 4.0, customers were unable to reprint misprinted postage, and customers had to submit forms and physical evidence to receive credit for misprinted postage.

Version 4.0 also adds the following new capabilities:

  • Multi-Value NetStamps. Customers can now print a single sheet of NetStamps labels with mixed postage values in a single print run.
  • Automated Email Notification. Customers can now automatically send email to their recipients when a package is shipped and receive email delivery notification once that same shipment is delivered.
  • Insurance for any USPS Mailpiece. Customers can now purchase Stamps.com insurance for any mailpiece, including items using NetStamps or other forms of valid USPS postage. Previously, Stamps.com Insurance was available for a more limited set of Stamps.com postage features.
  • QuickBooks Address Book Support. Customers can now access contact lists directly from QuickBooks Pro 2004 via the Stamps.com address book.
