STAMPS.COM ANNOUNCES SINGLE, SIMPLER PRICING PLAN
Stamps.com Also Unveils Free Trial Offer and $25 in Postage to Support Small Offices, Home Offices and Individuals Through the End-of-Year Mail Rush
SANTA MONICA, Calif. – (November 22, 1999) – Stamps.com(TM) (Nasdaq: STMP) today announced a new, consolidated pricing plan for its Internet Postage(TM) service. The new plan combines Stamps.com’s existing two-tiered pricing structure into one “Simple Plan” under which customers will now pay a service fee of 10 percent of the monthly postage printed, with a $1.99 minimum and $19.99 maximum per month.
Stamps.com also announced a free trial offer and $25 in postage for those who become new customers by Dec. 12, 1999. This special program is designed to encourage customer trial and ease the burdens of the end-of-the-year mail rush for small offices, home offices and individuals. Customers enrolling in the free trial and postage offer will not be charged the usual first month service fee and their accounts will immediately be credited with $25 of postage.
Together, the new pricing plan and special offer represent Stamps.com’s continued commitment to providing a convenient, cost-effective and easy-to-use service for purchasing and printing postage over the Internet. Stamps.com’s Internet Postage service is approved by the U.S. Postal Service and is currently the only commercially available offering that requires no meter or additional hardware, no start-up fees, no up-front costs and no penalty fees. Stamps.com is the only Internet Postage service to offer live customer support by phone, e-mail and live messaging 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week.
“Our new pricing plan is a response to our customers who said they prefer a simpler pricing structure,” said Stamps.com President Loren Smith. “The free trial and postage offer is intended to support small businesses and consumers, and demonstrate how useful Internet Postage can be in their businesses and their lives. These programs represent our commitment to providing a convenient and cost-effective service for our customers.”
